From raw model to web-ready GLB.

1

Open locally

Drop a complete package or add missing companion files later. Nothing is sent to a server.

2

Diagnose clearly

Get a readiness score, official glTF validation and plain-language fixes.

3

Reduce safely

Choose a target suited to mobile, general web use or visual quality.

4

Ship with confidence

Download a validated GLB or a complete viewer package that is ready to publish.

Bring Blender and 3ds Max projects to the web.

Native BLEND and MAX files depend on their desktop applications. These free helpers export a portable GLB locally, preserving IGNLab’s no-upload workflow.

IGNLab Blender Exporter

One-click GLB export with materials, textures, animation and web-friendly defaults. The scene stays on your computer.

  1. Install the add-on.
  2. Open the IGNLab panel.
  3. Export and open the GLB here.

IGNLab 3ds Max Helper

Audit missing bitmap textures and launch Autodesk’s GLB exporter with the correct destination selected.

  1. Run the MaxScript.
  2. Audit the scene.
  3. Export GLB and open it here.

View, diagnose and reduce 3D models.

IGNLab 3D combines the jobs usually split across several utilities. Open a model, understand every important issue, reduce eligible geometry and export one verified web-ready GLB.

VIEW

Free online 3D model viewer

Rotate, zoom and inspect GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL and PLY files with configurable lighting, backgrounds, wireframe mode and animation playback.

INSPECT

3D model analyzer

Check triangle and vertex counts, meshes, materials, textures, dimensions and animations. Practical warnings highlight common web-performance risks.

OPTIMIZE

Goal-based GLB optimizer

Reduce eligible static meshes and oversized embedded textures for mobile and AR, product pages or detailed portfolios, then export a validated GLB with Draco compression.

IGNLab 3D FAQ

Clear answers about formats, privacy and optimization.

Is IGNLab 3D free?

Yes. The viewer, model inspector, geometry optimizer, GLB exporter and PNG capture tools are free and require no account.

Are my 3D files uploaded?

No. IGNLab 3D reads and processes models locally in your browser. Your model files are not uploaded to IGNLab.

Which 3D file formats are supported?

IGNLab 3D opens GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL and PLY files. You can select multiple files, open an entire folder or use ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, TAR.GZ/TGZ, TAR.BZ2 or TAR.XZ packages containing textures, BIN and MTL files.

Can I open a RAR model package?

Yes. Unencrypted, single-volume RAR4 and RAR5 packages are unpacked locally in your browser. Nested folders are preserved and scanned automatically. Password-protected and multi-part RAR files are not supported yet.

Can I open TAR.GZ or 7Z model packages?

Yes. Open a 7Z, TAR, TAR.GZ/TGZ, TAR.BZ2 or TAR.XZ package just like a ZIP. It is unpacked locally, nested folders are preserved, and the entire package is searched for models and companion files.

What if an OBJ cannot find its MTL or textures?

Use Add files or Add folder in the Model package panel. IGNLab merges them into the current package, searches nested folders, matches a same-name or unique MTL, recognizes common texture roles such as base color and normal, and shows every inferred substitution.

Can I open BLEND or MAX files directly?

Not directly in the browser. BLEND and MAX are native project formats that rely on Blender or 3ds Max. Use the free IGNLab exporter helper for your authoring app to create a self-contained GLB locally, then open that GLB here.

How can I reduce a GLB file size?

Open the model, select Mobile and AR, Product page or Portfolio detail, and optimize. IGNLab reduces eligible geometry, resizes oversized embedded PNG, JPEG and WebP textures, applies Draco compression, then validates the final GLB.

Can IGNLab 3D validate a GLB or glTF file?

Yes. It runs the official Khronos glTF Validator locally, explains errors and warnings, and validates exported GLB files before download.

How do I add a GLB model to my website?

Open the model and download the web package. It includes a verified GLB, poster image, responsive viewer page and reusable model-viewer embed snippet that can be uploaded to an HTTPS website.

Does optimization protect animated models?

Yes. IGNLab 3D automatically excludes animated, skinned and morph-target meshes from geometry simplification to avoid damaging animation data.
